What Is Framechart?
framechart is a plugin for DaVinci Resolve that turns CSV data into cinematic animated bar, line, and race charts — rendered on the GPU directly in your timeline, with no manual keyframing. It is built for video editors, motion designers, and finance content creators who want professional animated data charts without round-tripping to After Effects.
The full plugin is free to use with a small watermark; a $19/month license removes it — that is the only difference.
How Framechart Works
Add the effect
Drop framechart on a clip in your DaVinci Resolve timeline, then paste or import your CSV and pick the columns.
Pick a template
Choose a cinematic or clean template in dark or light mode, and set the animation pace, duration, and effects in the Inspector.
Render in place
It renders on the GPU right in your timeline — no export step, no compositing round-trip. Adjust live and keep editing.
Who Uses Framechart
Freelance Video Editors
Save hours of manual keyframing per project. Composite charts over any client background right in your timeline — no After Effects license needed.
Finance & Business YouTubers
Turn weekly spreadsheet data into cinematic 4K chart animations in minutes, right inside the edit you're already cutting.
Corporate Video Teams
Animated charts for quarterly reports, earnings videos, and investor presentations — blended over branded video in the timeline.
Motion Designers
GPU-powered bloom, motion blur, and smooth easing — visuals that match your After Effects quality without the data-wrangling overhead.
The Feature No Other Chart Tool Has
framechart renders cinematic animated charts inside DaVinci Resolve — on the GPU, right in your timeline. No exporting frames, no importing a PNG sequence, no compositing round-trip. Tweak the data, pacing, and effects and they update in place, alongside the rest of your edit.
Tools like Flourish and Canva stop at a web embed or an MP4. framechart is the only chart tool that lives in your editor and renders with motion-design-grade bloom, motion blur, and easing at full GPU quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
What chart types does Framechart support?
Framechart supports five chart types: animated bar charts, animated line charts, animated data tables, and animated bar and line chart races. All five are available in the free tier.
Can I composite charts over my footage?
Yes. framechart is an OFX generator with a real alpha channel — place it on a layer above your footage in the Resolve timeline and blend it like any other clip. No masking, no rotoscoping, no PNG-sequence round-trip.
Does Framechart work with DaVinci Resolve?
Yes — framechart is a DaVinci Resolve plugin. You add it as a generator to a clip and it renders the animated chart on the GPU directly in your timeline. No After Effects license is required.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Framechart renders entirely on your own machine inside DaVinci Resolve. Your CSV data, chart configurations, and rendered videos are never uploaded to any server.
Do I need an account to use Framechart?
No. The free plugin needs no account — download it and start. A license is delivered as a key by email after checkout; paste it into the plugin's License & Updates panel in Resolve.
Can I use Framechart charts commercially?
Yes. Commercial use is included in both the free and licensed tiers.
